Memorials – headstones and plaques

The Staff from Avenal Park Funeral Home

It doesn’t matter who conducted the funeral or how long ago it was: Avenal Park Funeral Home is here to help.

Memorial headstones can be as individual and personalised as the lives they commemorate. Each headstone or plaque is engraved and decorated to reflect the personality of your loved one.

At every stage, from your initial ideas, to the final design, through to checking of the layout prior to the blasting of the stone, you are involved in the process. Quotes can be given prior to work commencing. We are members of the New Zealand Master Monumental Masons Association, so you can be assured we offer a high standard of service and products. We also clean, repair and restore existing headstones and plaques throughout Southland.

You can contact Avenal Park Funeral Home on 0800 033 925, email us office@avenalpark.co.nz or visit our showroom at 75 Fox Street, Invercargill to discuss options.

Poll: Would it be worth investing more money to open the museum in stages?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

🎉 Exciting news for Southland! We’re getting a brand new museum – the Te Unua Museum of Southland!

⏳ The not-so-great news? It’s still a little way off. The Invercargill City Council has decided to wait until the museum is fully finished in late 2027 before opening, instead of opening parts early at extra cost.

We want to hear from you: Would it be worth investing more money to open the museum in stages, even if it costs more, or is waiting for the full experience the better option?
