Reporter Joanna Griffiths talks to 16-year-old athletics enthusiast Jessica Senior to find out the risks of not using the correct technique when exercising, stretching or competing in sporting events.
As Jessica Senior, 16, let go of the javelin, hurling it through the air, she knew something was not right.
While practising at an athletics club meet in Dunedin in December 2016, two weeks before she was to compete at the National Championships, Jessica strained the ligaments in her arm around her elbow.
