Presenter, blacksmith Chris Ellwood, is both professional and personable in his presentation, combining information, warmth and humour throughout. Caravaggio was a genius who loved the life of a wealthy young man in a big city. His art was bright and flamboyant. His pictures were the toast of the town, and it seemed that nothing could taint his fame. Then this rash, gifted and passionate young man made a big mistake, and a man was killed. On the run, Caravaggio is confronted by his mortality and begins to reassess his life.
