Sell or swap

Dianne from Motueka

Attention furniture restorers. 0ne very loved airest lounge suite which we bought brand new in 1982 from Big save furniture . Has been to many a party, raised 2 children & watched lots of TV ! One very big couch fits about 5 people, One 2 seater couch big too, plus 2 big arm chairs. Was made with Brown draylon fabric, washable covers not a split even after 40 odd years ! Wooden stained honey brown pine arms & frames. Springs have collapsed. We never allowed our children on it with shoes or dogs to sit on it. It would look lovely re-springed, reupholstered and repainted with a charcoal or modern paint job & a nice tapestry fabric. It is really hard to let this go but we have moved house and have not the money to restore it & no where to store it. We would love for some one to love it again. It's too good to give to just anyone. We are happy for the right person who knows about restoring & modernising furniture to swap us for a decent bottle of spiced rum or a reasonable offer. Currently at bottom of shipping container in our yard. Can come to look,

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need πŸͺ™πŸ’°πŸͺ™

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship β€” like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
