Motueka Aquatic Centre Fundraising news

Sue from Motueka

The fundraising sausage sizzle held at Marchwood Park last Sunday 5th January was a resounding success and we would like to thank our sponsors New World, Woolworth and Harris Farms for their contributions. We would also like to thank our very supportive community who bought sausages and came back for more - apparently, they were delicious. We sold 200 and made a profit of $900.00.

Our next small fundraising event will be another Sausage Sizzle outside Mitre 10 on Saturday 25th January. Please do come along and help make this another successful event.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need πŸͺ™πŸ’°πŸͺ™

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship β€” like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
