In less than 3 years Ratepayers contribution has esculated from $26.8 million to $61.8 million. A 130% increase. Councillors have indicated that this is not the end of the cost over runs. Ratepayers are being used as a bottomless purse to subsidise commercial irrigation on the Plains. Time to call a HALT to this now and for a full review of this reckless folly.

With coronavirus threatening our Nelson and Tasman's most vulnerable, one community group says it's imperative to get people off the streets and out of overcrowded homes before winter.

One option could be to encourage owners of holiday rentals to let their homes to local residents instead of tourists. If you own a holiday let, would you consider letting to locals to help ease the pressure on the rental property market?

A reporter might get in touch with you to follow up your reply.

If someone is issued a fine e.g Infringement notice/ parking ticket etc. they will probably have 4 weeks to respond to the notice of fine before the process to file it at a District Court will start. Then another few weeks before the hearing. If there is no proof of service (as the person is long gone from our shores)- the matter will be withdrawn by the prosecuting agency.
The reason I ask this as I worked in the Supermarket industry for 10 years prior to retirement in 2016. We had numerous Freedom Campers caught stealing by our security. The Police were always called but invariably no charges were laid by the Police because they know the person would skip the country prior to the case being heard by a Judge. Some Offenders even boasted about this as it was common knowledge amongst them via Social Media.
For the story re the Defacator see this URL:
