1, We had good attendance at the September Car Boot Sale. Our thanks to all the sellers/buyers who came along despite the cold, gloomy weather forecast. 2. The Small Events fundraising movie proved to be very popular with tickets sold out which enabled us to bank $880 for this event. Thank you to the ticket sellers and to everyone for your support.
3. Our Gerry the Giraffe raffle has now been drawn with Nisha buying the winning ticket No. 199.
4. Our next Small Events fundraiser is a Quiz evening at the Sprig and Fern on Tuesday September 30th. Please encourage teams to come along and have a fun night out whilst supporting our Motueka Aquatic Centre Small Events fundraising. Please book your team table by phoning 03 528 4684. Because it’s been seen so rarely, scientists still know very little about it. But its striking features are already sparking debate about whether it should be given special protection, and some have even argued it could become an icon species for Papua New Guinea.
At a time when we so often hear about species disappearing, the return of this little shark is a reminder that nature can surprise us ... and that there’s always reason to hope.
