MOSAICS: Creating Detailed Designs
This is a 3 day class using fiberglass mesh to create more detailed designs. Two sessions to complete a design, and the 3rd day to grout.
Day 1
Creating a design and transferring to paper.
Learning how to assemble the mesh on top of the image.
Placing shards on top of the mesh and securing the design ready for grouting.
Day 2
You will continue to perfect your skills in cutting the ceramic, refining edges with sand and paper and learning how to use the grinder. The mesh has an adhesive quality, which means one can place down, but change or move it easily if necessary.
Because this is a more detailed image, I have allowed two sessions to complete the design.
Day 3
Grouting (Filling the gaps between individual mosaic tiles)
My workshop is not large, only 2 to 3 women at a time, which gives a very personalised experience.
*All materials will be supplied.

Do your pet a favour and help them live longer by getting them desexed. If you can't afford it, please click desexing.spca.nz......
As they will help you.
Or your local rescue organisation.
As cats can revert to being feral away from people and cause more unwanted litters. Make sure you also have a decent job and be able to feed and nurse the cat post-surgery.
There's also pet insurance companies around which you can claim back a percentage of what you pay, if you have a policy. If you really love your pets, you can help them out financially.
Some feral cats can learn to trust humans again given time and patience with a quiet room. They will wind up showing more love than domestic cats. But the main thing is Snip for ferals also.
Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
