Student Volunteer Week 2020

Hannah Cunningham from Volunteer Marlborough

✨ Today is the start of Student Volunteer Week 2020! πŸŽ‰β

SVW2020 is all about celebrating and acknowledging the impact that student volunteers make. This week is also an opportunity to enable students to try volunteering!

Students, universities, schools and organisations all over New Zealand will be celebrating SVW2020 through a variety of events and festivities that celebrate our student volunteers and connect young people with opportunities to get involved in volunteering.

There are thousands of high-school and university students who connect, give and grow through volunteering. This contribution has a major impact on communities and causes, on both the national and international stage.

β€œCollective Impact: Give.Grow.Connect” is the theme of #SVW2020. Student volunteers give a hand and add real value to the community. Together they make a substantial impact on Aotearoa New Zealand. By giving to a community or cause, student volunteers grow and flourish. They gain knowledge and create change within their communities. Through volunteering, mahi aroha and social impact, student volunteers create their own social and professional networks. They connect with peers and people who share their same passion and interests.

For information on how to get involved with SVW2020 visit www.studentvolunteerweek.nz... or contact the Volunteer Marlborough office (call 03-577-9388 or email vm@volunteermarlborough.org.nz)

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? πŸ›»πŸš¨πŸš“

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?

What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?
