Running 85km in a race on a rough back-country track is not for the faint-hearted, and requires grit, determination and a lot of courage.
The only place to bail out if you've had enough is at the halfway mark. Local doctor Emily Marfell had a nasty fall just 32km into the race, but pressed on with a nasty gash on her arm and damaged ribs to complete the race. She received a special award in recognition of her effort, and $500 to donate to charity. Read the full story.
