Where’s the best place for a dip?
Planning to go to your favourite beach or river for a swim this summer?
Check the water quality of your favourite spot before you head out – we collect water samples every week from 21 sites across Marlborough. In summer the risk of catching a bug from swimming in clear water is usually low. However, after heavy rain, contamination can occur through runoff.

As a rule of thumb, don't swim if the water looks dirty or murky, smells or has scum on its surface.
