Possible marine guardians for Marlborough - Are they needed urgently?
Hi neighbours - a group of Marlborough Girls' College students are working on addressing issues which face Marlborough Sounds' marine environment.
They have raised issues to Jacinda Ardern, which include dredging, overfishing, sedimentation and anchoring. Jacinda has said she will look into the feasibility of a local bill that could pave way for marine guardians to be set up in Marlborough.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
