If you’re looking for a hot cross bun in Canterbury, your chances of biting into a dud are low.

Seven of the nation’s top 10 buns are made in Canterbury, according to 2021’s Great New Zealand Hot Cross Bun competition, run by the Baking Industry Association of New Zealand.
