Have you signed up for the Waimakariri District Council's kerbside collection alerts?

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from Northern Outlook

Confused Waimakariri residents are being encouraged to sign up for alerts so they put their bins out on the right day.

About 900 households have subscribed to the alerts since the new collection service began in July, but council solid waste manager Kitty Waghorn hopes more will sign up rather than rely on copying what their neighbours are doing. "The reminders take the guesswork out, particularly around public holidays ... where it's common for people to put bins or bags out on the wrong day."

Anyone on the council's kerbside collection area can sign up for the text or email alerts online.
