What does Tiaki mean to you?

Nicole Stanton from

9 South Auckland Secondary Schools have been innovating to local environmental issues we face every day. Simply, because they believe Tiaki is about being a guardian of the environment!

Come and watch each school present their innovations to the public at the FREE Tiaki Green Careers Expo on Friday 10 August 2018 at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau.

Interested in a green career? The Tiaki Expo will also host tertiary providers, presentations and environmental and STEM industry organisations, each with hands-on activities and information about green careers.

If your school or group is able to fill a bus, we will cover the costs for return transport. Email me at Nicole.stanton@mbct.org.nz

See you there!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
