SCAM ALERT - targeting the health and well being of the elderly
I was recently contacted by a man (with a slight Indian accent) saying he was part of a new Health NZ program run by the Government to improve the health of the elderly. He had information about me and spoke like a health professional. He provided his name and phone number and was very convincing with his smooth talk and knowledge. I was cautious but it was later when I was coerced to order vitamin supplements to improve my metabolism and Paypal was mentioned, the red flags appeared. When I resisted giving any details and not wanting to buy anything he turned narsacystic and said I must be insane to think that he was a scammer with all the knowledge that he had shared with me. He said the time he spent with me had cost him money etc.
I contacted the police who were very supportive and said to contact Cert NZ who said it was a definitely scam that had appeared recently.
Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️
First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
-
33.3% Yes - get rid of the clock changes
-
65.6% No, I enjoy it
-
1% Other - I'll share below
