Reduce your insurance premiums
My insurance company advised me that annual premiums (house, contents, 2 cars) were rising to $6,800 pa. I shopped around and, by increasing the excesses to quite high levels (eg, $2,000 for cars) reduced this to $5,100.
The Tower website is particularly easy to use and their call centre is super helpful. Short waiting times too.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
