Bubbling Drain

Colin from Tawa

This drain in Oxford Street, Tawa, has been bubbling away for WEEKS. It has been reported to the WCC and when you ring WCC to find out if they are ever going to do something you get, and I quote, this answer "It's on the list"
The WCC don't do the work in a case like this, they contract it out. So when you have found out the job number you have to contact the sub contractor. Surely if the sub contactor is overworked then employ more sub contractors.....if there ARE any.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
