Arena Aquatics back in action

Porirua City Council

Arena Aquatics is back in action following important maintenance work to ensure this popular facility can continue to be enjoyed by all.

Staff were excited to open the doors to the public again last week after three weeks which had the building full of contractors rather than swimmers.

Much of the maintenance work focused behind the scenes, in the pool plant and filtration areas. The public areas also received a refresh.

To celebrate Arena Aquatics’ reopening, we are inviting tamariki to enter a drawing competition, where they can draw themselves and their whānau enjoying a dip in the toddlers’ pool. There will be swim passes and other goodies up for grabs – keep an eye on the Council Facebook page for more details.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
