SEASON’S GREETINGS from the Rotary Club of Tawa

Ian Munro from Rotary Club of Tawa Inc.

2018 has been a great year as a result of the support of the people of Tawa. When you support events like the Book Fair and Toot4Tucker you are helping Rotary make a difference locally and globally in these ways.
LOCALLY: re-stocking the Foodbank; supporting the work of the Life Education Trust, Foster Hope, the Stroke Foundation, Pest Free Tawa, Ronald McDonald House, the Hospice, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Epilepsy NZ and the Light Party; putting Dictionaries in Prison and in Schools, and a defibrillator in the MenzShed; hanging flower baskets in the shopping precinct; and helping with street collections, Spring into Tawa and the re-establishment of Probus.
Rotary has been able to send young locals to Rotary Leadership, Science & Technology, and Innovative Young Minds courses and recognise the Tawa Young Employee of the Year.
GLOBALLY, we sent some medical aid to Timor-Leste, clothing for Solomon Islands’ children, a shelter box to Indonesia, a contribution towards polio eradication, a student to the UN Pacific Forum and an exchange student to Canada; while hosting exchange students from Belgium and Canada and having a presence at the Presidential Peacebuilding Conference.
May you have a merry and peaceful Christmas.
