About 70 of Metlink’s 500 bus drivers are aged 70 or over and in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines, they are advised to remain at home. Less drivers means there will need to be cancellations to some services across the bus network.
We are currently looking at where cancellations will need to take place and are encouraging Metlink customers to keep up to date with service changes by checking Metlink’s website, App and Real Time Information screens.

As you all know, COVID-19 (coronavirus) is a serious developing situation across Aotearoa and the world, with new advice coming out each day.
The most important thing for us is to look after the health and wellbeing of our community and do everything we can to make sure everybody stays safe during these uncertain times. Let’s work together to protect and care for one another. Thank you for your interest in joining us for the clean-up and your understanding about it being postponed – we’ll be in touch down the track to let you know when it’s going ahead.
ORIGINAL POST
We’re teaming up with Porirua City Council, the Bothamley Park crew and the community to help clean up Bothamley Park – the green heart of Porirua. Bothamley Park is a stunning green space with ecological links to Te Awarua-o-Porirua Harbour, Pāuatahanui Inlet and Belmont Regional Park and has around 500 neighbours. The community clean-up event is an opportunity for those neighbours and others who use the park to come together and show the park a little care. March 28 falls within the dates for Neighbours Day Aotearoa 2020.
Come along and help us give this much-loved community space a spruce up. We’ll provide rubbish bags, gloves for the clean-up and some kai to share.
WHEN: Saturday 28 March, 1–4 pm
WHERE: Meet at Bothamley Park entrance off Warspite Ave (opposite 118 Warspite Ave).
To let us know you’re coming, please email info@poriruadevelopment.co.nz
Nau mai, haere mai – all are welcome.

Supply from rivers in Wainuiomata has dropped out, and now we’re using a lot more water from our storage lakes.
Lake usage has averaged about 41MLD over the last week, and levels have dropped 9% in the last week.
Catchments are still very dry, and there isn’t much rain on the forecast! Please continue to observe water restrictions until they come off, and of course, always use water wisely.
*These graphs indicate demand in Porirua, Wellington, Lower Hutt, and Upper Hutt.

Club President Judith Gray says that, as community leaders, the Board felt this to be the correct course of action to take in order to look after people and help slow the spread of Covid-19 through the community. Unfortunately, this has also meant postponing the club’s upcoming 50th Anniversary celebrations.
“However, if Rotarians can be of assistance to members of the Tawa Community during this time we will do what we can to help while also maintaining adherence to Government guidelines. Look after yourselves and your families and look out for your neighbours. To quote the Prime Minister, we will get through this.”
