Whitireia Park planting
Sunday 6 May 2018
Meet us for our first planting day of 2018
We're planting to create habitat and food sources for native lizards and butterflies and a seed source for natural regeneration of the escarpment.
9am until 11am (approx)
All are welcome! Many hands make the work light.
Location: Park at the carpark at the top of the hill
What to wear: Multiple layers of clothing as this area is very exposed, good working shoes, gardening gloves
Equipment: Grubber, spade
*Note: we supply some spades, but any you can bring will be helpful
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
On the hunt for a childhood book
Hi guys,
I'm currently trying very hard to find this book and I can't seem to find it locally in stores. I was hoping one of you might have an old copy you weren't in need of anymore 🤞 i would be incredibly grateful 👌😊
