Mountains to Moana - GWRC Event

Community Engagement Advisor from Greater Wellington Regional Council

The Wairarapa is the place to be this weekend! If you are looking for a free fun family event join us at the historic Waiorongomai Station THIS Saturday from 10am-1pm. It is up to you as to how much exploring you want to do.

We have on offer:
- A local author reading a native fish story reading for children
- Learn more about stream wildlife on a short guided walk
- A short guided native tree and wetland walk
- Nature photography workshop

There’ll be a lunchtime BBQ but you could also bring a picnic to enjoy sheltered amongst the trees.

Waiorongomai Station is on the Western Lake Road, south of Featherston.

A beautiful spot not to be missed! See you there!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
