For many superannuitants like myself daily life has gone quiet. No visits to friends and family, no outings other than local walks. Some of us will be saving money, expecially on petrol, and on treats such as coffees, eating out, and entertainment. It's a good time to think of those who aren't so lucky, and in particular children living in poverty. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
