Choir concerts featuring Italian masterworks

Eric from Ranui

Voices in the Wind, Porirua's own choir, present their end of year concerts, featuring a selection of beautiful works by Italian masters through the ages, from Monteverdi to Verdi and Rossini, culminating in the timeless Magnificat by Durante. Not just classical pieces, but timeless Italian Christmas works as well! These concerts will be presented twice – the first on Friday evening 4 December at 7:30 pm in Khandallah (St Barnabas Church), and then again on Sunday 6 December at 3:00 pm in Raumati Beach (Kapiti Uniting Church). These concerts have been a long time coming - because of the pandemic we have been practicing much of this music for 10 months now! Adults $20, Unwaged $15, children under 12 free. Tickets available at door.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
