Cordons in place due to threat
2.51pm Update: Cordons have now been lifted.

A bomb threat has been made towards a premises on Arthur Street, Timaru. Police are in attendance.
What you need to know:
- Police received the report around 10am.
- As a precaution, hundreds of staff and students at Timaru's Polytech have been evacuated, as well as some neighbouring premises.
- Cordons in place around a city block at Arthur Street, Grey Road, North Street and State Highway 1/Theodosia Street.
Police are asking people to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
