Strong winds and heavy rain forecast for Canterbury High Country
Parts of South Canterbury are expected to be hit by strong winds and heavy rain with MetService issuing a severe weather warning.
The weather forecasting agency says the Canterbury High Country can expect severe gale northwest winds and heavy rain from late Wednesday night, as an active front is forecast to approach the South Island from the Tasman Sea on Wednesday.
The press release says strong winds could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures.
