Olwen Norton Altrusa Scholarship
We are now accepting applications for the Olwen Norton Altrusa Scholarship. The $1500 Scholarship is for tuition fees only. It is intended to be used for vocational study for South Canterbury residents who wish to return to the workplace, retrain for a new career or who wish to complete study previously undertaken. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
