Strict dress code at Kerikeri High School ball πŸ’ƒ

Fiona from Henderson

For crying out loud!!!
PC gone stark raving mad!!
I understand a certain degree of decorum when the young ladies arrive in formal wear to the school ball is required, after all as it's not a Friday night out at the night clubs, but come on, this is too much.
"below the ankle bone"? Really?
There are so many beautiful and modest dresses that fall into the mid level (calf length) or even knee length category.
Some families can't afford to rent the gowns for the ball or even afford all the material to make one. But they may be able to make a mid level dress that is totally acceptable and modest or borrow one from a friend or sister etc .. ore even buy one on sale during the year.
The boys are only required to wear suits that are all one colour, with appropriate dress shoes and a tie at all times.
From experience, boys suit with the full ensemble are far cheaper to rent than a young lady's formal gown.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need πŸͺ™πŸ’°πŸͺ™

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship β€” like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Night-time chipsealing works on SH2

NZ Transport Agency (NZTA)

From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).

During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.

There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
