Here's some ideas for ways you could get involved:
• swap seeds with a neighbour
• gift a plant you've grown to a neighbour
• take some flowers to a neighbour
• organise a produce swap
• share garden tips or recipes for food in season
• create community gardens or berm pollinator pathways
• host an inclusive garden-themed working bee
• a friendly neighbourhood BBQ with homegrown ingredients
The options are endless! At the end of the day, our shared aim is to help bring people together by encouraging intentional connection with our neighbours. Whether that be organising a street party, sharing a cuppa, or simply saying ‘Kia Ora!” to those who live around you, every action helps to create a safer and more connected New Zealand.

There are three community cases, two siblings who are students at Papatoetoe High School, and their household contact.
There was also one new case in MIQ on Wednesday.
Schools in Auckland can reopen. But Papatoetoe High School will remain closed for the rest of the week.
Teachers and students from that school must return a negative test before returning next week.
Covid-19 alert level 3 took effect in Auckland at 11.59pm on Sunday
The Government is making it easier for businesses to get one of its support measures - if current alert levels are extended.
People identified as contacts or who were at the locations of interest are being asked to get tested.

The Titirangi pair are thrilled they will be allowed to tie the knot on Saturday at Waterfall Farm in Kaukapakapa.
“We just jumped into each other’s arms,” said Holland, 32, after the Government’s announcement to move Auckland from level 3 to 2 from midnight Wednesday.
The rest of the country will move to level 1 at the same time.
“Something went right for a change,” said Tweed, 28.
Holland, a hairdresser, said they had trimmed 21 people from their guest list to meet social gathering rules.
Level 2 means Aucklanders can have up to 100 people at their wedding.
Another welcome relief for the happy couple is the relaxation of travel rules: Under level 2, people can travel to other regions that are at level 2 or lower.
Holland’s sister is in Palmerston North, one bridesmaid is in Christchurch, and her parents who have been stuck in Huntly since Sunday’s lockdown announcement will be free to drive to the ceremony.
The couple is looking forward to an extended honeymoon in April, touring the South Island.

With Auckland back in Level 3, most of us are back working from the kitchen table, juggling work, school and childcare - simultaneously for some.
Last year, Stuff reported on the great array of hobbies New Zealanders picked up during the lockdown, such as home workouts and learning a few new cooking hacks. PC gaming also proved popular with Google search trends for March 2020 showing a 400 per cent search increase for the term.
