An event your taste buds won't want to miss

Social Media Manager from Tuia 250 ki Tōtaranui

Join the Aunties of Omaka Marae for a feast unlike any other.

For one night only, the co-lab behind the popular Manaaki preserves and condiments, bring you a night rich in culture and tradition while also paying homage to contemporary Māori cuisine.

Inspired by the Aunties of old – the “Queens of Manaakitanga” – who always had the pataka stocked, Hākari will take guests on a cultural and culinary journey, with each course telling its own unique – and local – story.

Live music and cultural performances will set the scene for a stunning night.

For hundreds of years hākari – or feasts – have played a key role in Māori culture as a demonstration of hospitality.

Don’t miss this rare chance to experience refined but generous Māori kai in a marae environment.

Tickets are $150 and include canapes, a 3 course dinner and welcome drink, plus an evening jam-packed full of cultural entertainment. A cash bar will be available.

Dehorners

Ron from Fairhall - Renwick - Woodbourne

SharpAs Tool Tips

Pictured is a set of dehorners brought in for sharpening. Like all cutting tools, a sharp edge is essential for them to work efficiently and cleanly.

Good to see that pain relief is now part of the process as well.

If you have tools, knives, kitchen utensils, or other items that need sharpening or repair, come and see me:
🔹 Redwood Market – Saturdays
🔹 Marlborough Farmers’ Market – Sundays
Or contact me directly on 027 444 5535.

Cheers,
Ron

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
