October marks the Stroke Foundation of NZ's Big Blood Pressure Check.
Tomorrow (Saturday 5th), there will be free blood pressure checks at PAK'nSAVE Blenheim.
We’ve got some of NZ’s best actors/actresses coming to Marlborough from November 3-25 to make a fantastic action/adventure film right here in our back yard. And a few top-notch crew from Auckland and Wellington. It’s a very micro/low budget film produced entirely by your neighbours - local Marlborough filmmakers. The actors need motel rooms and the crew need holiday homes/baches in the Picton area. Plus caravans and RV’s, tents and marquees for makeup and wardrobe. If you can help, you’ll get to meet the actors, visit the set during shooting and get a credit in the film itself. We want to make a great film and your help will be so appreciated!

While Council’s bylaw prohibiting dogs in central Blenheim will be lifted for the whole of October, it’s important that dog owners are responsible during this time.
All dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times, and owners must clean up after their dogs. Failure to do so could result in a $300 fine.
Dog owners will be able to identify dog-friendly retailers by a paw print sticker displayed on the shop window or door.

Three planter boxes were removed from Picton's main street last month because too many drivers were crashing into them.

Do you know what this unusually-shaped offshore rock is named? Will and Rose Parsons from Driftwood Retreat and Eco-Tours stumbled across it on the northwestern side of D'Urville Island near Port Hardy, during one of their multi-day expeditions.
The 65th Black Hawk National Dog Show runs from tomorrow until Saturday, with 1400 dogs of 120 different breeds.
Dogs will be allowed into the CBD from tomorrow for one month. Are you going to head along to have a look at the pooches?
