Six patients at Whitianga Care Centre have died within a 10-day period in an outbreak of “influenza like symptoms”, health authorities say.
Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand was notified on January 28 of an outbreak at a Whitianga aged residential care centre.
“Our team members did everything possible to keep our residents and team members safe," said centre operator Oceania Healthcare.
