I posted this YouTube video last October. It's a brief tutorial on how to use the Waikato Regional Council's coastal flooding simulator. After the January 5 storm surge and sea flooding event, maybe this will be of interest to anyone wanting to learn how to use the simulator and to get an indication as to whether their Thames-Coromandel property may flood from the sea. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
