Have you had a problem with roaming, aggressive dogs?
A Whangārei woman is so terrified of snarling, aggressive dogs that freely roam the streets that she no longer walks her grandson to school, instead spending about $30 a day on taxi rides. Whangārei District Council says there have been fewer dog attacks and complaints about rushing dogs this year, but more wandering complaints compared with the year before - and animal control have limited resources. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
