We've worked with other Northland Councils to produce an interactive map showing repair of slips in our Region.
It shows that we have successfully restored the majority of roads in Whangārei District and are focusing on 28 remaining sites, with an estimated cost of around $10 million total. These repairs are expected to take 2 - 3 years to complete.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.
Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Our government targeting the weakest in society for cuts. Just nasty
Now, MSD is going to target give-a-little pages supporting sick people.
.
This is going to lead to more suicides, poverty-related crime, and more desperation.
More learning disabled in jail.
I have this radical idea called early intervention, which involves teaching children to read and write in schools, not jails.

I wrote about disabled people and marginalisation, and here is my book titled.

the Library will reopen to the Community this Saturday 23 March 2024 at 10am and we look forward to both our old and new friends coming back to the library.
We have lots of new books as well as a fresh selection of Whangarei Public Library Books on offer. Don’t forget to check out our selection of magazines covering Fishing, Rugby, NZ Geography to name a few.
We also now have Walking New Zealand - a monthly magazine covering walking and cycling trails throughout New Zealand.
The library is looking great but we were disappointed that it had to be closed for longer than we had expected. It is a major refurbishment with a new roof, exterior paint and replacement doors and windows as well as sanded and varnished native timber floors which look really great. The ramp has been upgraded to meet the current standard.
The Tradespeople have done a fine job and our thanks go to the Ministry of Education, School Board of Trustees and Principal and others who have overseen the project.
Our building will be in fine shape to go through into its 100th year of being built in 2025.
Opening times and arrangements have had to be changed to accommodate OSH and other requirements regarding access to the School grounds and buildings during school time.
All members of the Public must sign in at the office whenever being on school grounds during school opening times.
Library Public Opening Times:
Monday to Friday: 1.30pm - 4.30pm (sign in required at School Office )
Saturdays: 10am – 12 Noon
School Holidays: Monday to Saturday: 10am – 12 Noon
Closed Public Holidays.
