A place to stay for Spanish girl here on a working holiday

Elly from Papamoa Beach

Hello! We met a lovely Spanish girl who is here on a working holiday and needs a place to stay for some months. I am posting this on her behalf:

Hello neighbours! My name is Nora, I'm 22 years old, and I'm from Barcelona. I just arrived in the area after spending five months in Queenstown, and I'm looking for a place to live. I've been sleeping in my car for the past two months while traveling. But now that I'm starting work, I'd love to have a more stable place.

I'm open to different options:
- A single or shared room (I have a friend who is also looking).
- A spot to park my car, while having access to a kitchen and bathroom.

I'm a sociable and active person who loves sharing experiences with new people. I'm always out exploring and doing outdoor activities, and I enjoy good conversations and cultural exchanges. If you're looking for an easy-going flatmate who brings good vibes to the house, feel free to message me! I'd also love the opportunity to stay with a local family and experience their way of life. I really enjoy being around kids, and I'd be happy to help out whenever needed. I’ll cook Spanish meals for everyone and teach some Spanish!

PS This morning, I met Elly and Leo at the Papamoa Parkrun, and they offered to post this message on the Neighbourly website to help me reach more people.

Thank you so much! Nora, 021 706 934, nferrerparpal@gmail.com

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.

We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?

Keen to dig deeper? Mike White has the scoop.
