PLANT SALE - TE PUNA QUARRY PARK - 13 Oct

Our spring plant sale on Sunday 13 Oct 2024 (10am - 1pm) at Te Puna Quarry Park will be a large one again. (Plant donations are still welcome though!). On sale is a variety of garden plants, succulents, vegetable seedlings, pots, other garden stuff, some house plants, textiles and gifts. Kids can make Christmas decorations. Omokoroa Lions will do a Sausage sizzle. Online payment is available. Proceeds are for ongoing Park maintenance. Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.

We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
