Extra blue bins _glass
Several weeks ago I asked TCC to supply an extra blue bin for glass as now without the use of the black bags to put excess glassware into during the non pick up week, our bin tends to overflow past the recommended level . I was informed that there was a fee of $25 to provide the extra bin. After waiting over five weeks for the bin to arrive it was a shock to see that the bin was an old one which was used for shipping rocks and debris and the former owners sticker was still on the bin. I enquired to TCC why old and why if its already been used are you charging $25? The spin doctors from sustainabilty /waste were quick to reply that the fee was not for the bin but for administration AND it has to be paid every year. I used to think that major corporations were very good at unbundling to squeeze every dollar out of its consumers this council is no different. Glad to hear other peoples views on this .
