Needing to rehome an elderly female black Muscovy duck 🦆🦆🦆
I have been caring for an elderly female black Muscovy duck (approx 10 years old) on the local council pond. Her Muscovy partner and other duck family were affected by the recent botulism, and as a consequence, she has been by herself and has been extremely lonely now for weeks. She cannot be relocated with the other ducks on the same pond, as due to her age and tameness, she is very prone to local dog attacks on the walking track. If you could please give (Bertha) a caring home that has a pond and other ducks (especially muscovies) or know of someone who can that would be awesome! This duck is not to be eaten! I can transport her to her new home. TIA.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
