Te Puke residents, if you see myrtle rust…

Ministry for Primary Industries

If you’re in or around the Te Puke area we recommend you don’t move myrtle species out of the area and don’t move green waste, tree prunings from myrtle species out of your property until further notice.
• Do not take green waste from myrtle species off your property as there’s the potential for it to be infectious.
• Green waste from myrtle species can be composted, but not taken to a refuse centre.
• Myrtle species include ramarama, pohutukawa, bottle brush and feijoa.

If you’re unsure and require any further information, check out mpi.govt.nz/myrtlerust
