update on Tsunami Evacuation exit blocked
I posted a photo & comments about the lack of access to the official Tsunami Evacuation route from our end of Papamoa (off Thompson Drive). It was just before council elections & I was a bit cynical at the promises from Councilors & council departments to fix the problem but I have to take my hat off to Councillor Leanne Brown & Manager Emergency Management for Tauranga City Council Paul Baunton. They came through for us & I will try & post todays photo of the improved escape route...I do recommend people walk the escape route so you don't get lost when the time comes to run...
