BPW Franklin awards
A lovely BPW Franklin meeting this week. Presentation to our bursary winner Dahnie Skelling who attended with her family. All very proud of her, with good reason. We are very sad that Rachael Speedy is stepping back, what an asset she has been
Also had other awards and our AGM with Sally Sanderson stepping down and Helen Baucke our new President.
Many thanks to Sally who stepped into the Presidents shoes with very little warning and took it all in her stride with aplomb, when she hadn't even been a member for very long. Amazing woman.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
