Chorus
There is concern in our neighborhoods about fibre and the copper lines,
The concern is real as chorus owns both yet is fading out the copperline Christmas Rd Manurewa had fibre laid down in October the crew that laid it just happen to break the water mains under most driveways they were working on. Christmas Rd is reported to be one of the most troubling roads in Manurewa for net and phone call outs properties have reported not to even have a working phone line due to the techs from chorus messing them about. Chorus was contacted many times via Telecom and and Vodafone about these issues the end result of a tech coming out and messing up someone elses phone and net to fix temporarily an issue, The company Chorus must hire really stupid people to work for em as the issues are getting greater everyday. While this is happening the service providers such as Telecom and Vodafone are getting bombarded with negative fallback on this matter while Chorus sits back and continues to mess it all up. Folk i warn you if this is happening to you and your street complain to the Commerce Commission and give all the evidence you can including taking video of chorus techs messing about. It is about time Chorus was held accountable for their incompetence. also if your phone line is messed up and your a medical in need of phone and internet then the company Chorus can be sued on emotional grounds. Dont let these Pirates get away from their responsibility to supply quality service in our telecommunication lines.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Night-time chipsealing works on SH2
From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).
During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.
There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
