Local roads

James from Papakura

Has anybody noticed the shocking state of local roads in Papakura.??
In particular i am talking about the intersection of Hunua Road & settlement especially turning left out of Hunua Road, ( It is so badly cut up and has been for a long time ) I fear it wont be long before serious damage is done to either my car or more importantly the tyres on my car.
There are further pit holes as you drive down Hunua Road mainly caused ( i suspect ) by the huge number of trucks that use this road. Considering the amount of road tax's that trucking firms pay and the increased petrol tax that normal motorists are paying for the care and construction of roads, WHEN are we going to see the council spending some of this revenue to urgently fix up the many roads around the Papakura area that have fallen way behind in being maintained to a safe level for motorists. It seems they are more interested in looking after cyclists ( who pay no user tax's ) than they are of looking after motorist's who DO pay high tax's to ensure we have good quality and well maintained roads to drive on.
Come on Auckland council, ( and our local councillors ) wake your idea's up and go for a drive around our streets to see just how bad some of our roads are. It's not all about cycleways you know..
