Urgent alert: Takanini School is in lockdown
Takanini School, in south Auckland, is in lockdown and communiy members are reporting a heavy police presence in the area. To read more, click here.
Takanini School posted on Facebook, saying the school grounds had been closed off on Tuesday afternoon.
"Your children cannot leave the school grounds until the lockdown is over. Please do not come on to the school grounds," the post said.
"We have been advised by the police to go into lockdown. The school is currently safe and secure."

we spent Friday night camped at Bobs Leisure Time POP near Glenbrook, grandson loved especially when the train went past all lit up - just watch out for your ears when the engine whistle blows 🙂
