Dental Hygienist

Michelle from Linton

Hi everyone. Some time ago I did a post about the expense of seeing a dental hygienist. In one of the replies, someone mentioned that where they go, they were able to make an appointment with a hygienist without having to have a dental exam each year. I can't remember where they said they went, but I am hoping they will see this and tell me again. The dental practice I go to has now priced themselves so high I cannot afford to go there anymore! So looking for another place, but if I can find somewhere that allows you to see a hygienist without having to have yearly dental exams, that would be even better. According to my dental practice, they are not allowed to let you see a hygienist unless your dental exams are up to date every year. I just don't understand this, as I am the paying customer, shouldn't it be up to me? I am happy for them to advise, however the final decision should be mine. Anyway hoping to find a dental practice where I can get my teeth cleaned without it costing me an arm and a leg and the rest of my limbs! 😲

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
