Register for Household Chemical Waste Drop-off

The Team from Palmerston North City Council

Palmerston North City Council is hosting Household Chemical Waste Drop-off for the third year running on the 9 August. We urge you to register to drop off your chemical waste so we can responsibly recycle and dispose of your chemical waste.

Many households regularly use chemicals around the home that can be hazardous to people, pets and the environment. These often end up being disposed of down the toilet or the sink which is bad for the environment.

Register online at www.myhazwaste.kiwi/local-collection/ or phone 0508 CHEMICAL. Registrations close on 3 August.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
