DOG CONTROL PETITION
Hi neighbours!
At 9am next Wed-13-Aug the Council’s Community Committee meeting is being presented with a petition requesting a review of the operations and performance of the Animal Management team with respect to nuisance dogs, and more substantive enforcement of the Dog Control Act.
If you would like to encourage the Committee members to support this petition you could email them in advance of the meeting, and even attend the meeting yourself. It is open to the public.

Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
