Garage sales are great fun, reuse of goods
Two places to find them...
- Here in Neighbourly...
www.neighbourly.co.nz...
a dedicated subgroup where you can see any happening, or post a message free to tell 17,000 people about yours
- In Facebook marketplace, where you can filter for locality, inspect for the date of the sale.
- Recently I got a good fridge, including delivery, for $125. Also, a snazzy wetsuit that fitted me perfectly, for $3. A CD collection of about 100 cds for about $30 to use in the kitchen when bored with radio, a civil defense wind-up radio/lamp, and a four gallon water container for $5. Beach shoes, $5.
- Tomorrow there's a sale at the Bowling club on Featherston St. near Botanical. None in the Standard tonight, but usually there's a few.
- 'Good to get out and about. Combine it with a visit to the Albert Street market, encounter friends, maybe have a meal in town.
What's your favourite recipe for courgettes?
Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
